The Wind and The Fire

correction:
The Wind and The Fire
——————————————
New Title WIND and FIRE: Antifragility and the Energy of Disorder As in the first sentence: Wind extinguishes a candle and energizes fire. Likewise with randomness, uncertainty, chaos: you want to use them, not hide from them. You want to be the fire and wish for the wind. This summarizes this author’s anti-sissy attitude to randomness and uncertainty. We just don’t want to just survive uncertainty, just about make it. We want to survive uncertainty and, in addition –like a certain class of aggressive Roman Stoics —to wrest control and dominate it, own it, have the last word. More generally we need to figure out a program for humans to snatch control of fate. So the mission is about how to domesticate, even dominate, even conquer, the impenetrable, the unseen, the nonunderstood, the opaque, the invisible, the perplexing, and the inexplicable.
