To not only bounce back when things don\u2019t go as planned, but to get stronger, smarter, and better at continuing as a result of running into this disorder.<\/p>\n<p>First, here are some principles that come from Antifragile:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Stick to simple rules<\/li>\n<li>Build in redundancy and layers (no single point of failure)<\/li>\n<li class=\"notes-source-hasnotes\">Resist the urge to suppress randomness<\/li>\n<li>Make sure that you have your soul in the game<\/li>\n<li>Experiment and tinker\u200a\u2014\u200atake lots of small risks<\/li>\n<li>Avoid risks that, if lost, would wipe you out completely<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t get consumed by data<\/li>\n<li>Keep your options open<\/li>\n<li>Focus more on avoiding things that don\u2019t work than trying to find out what does work<\/li>\n<li>Respect the old\u200a\u2014\u200alook for habits and rules that have been around for a long time<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The general underlying principle here is to play the long game, keep your options open and avoid total failure while trying lots of different things and maintaining an open mind.<\/p>\n<p>Things that don\u2019t fit into these principles (that you\u2019re probably more familiar with):<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<blockquote><p>Giving something up cold turkey<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<blockquote><p>Going all in with a single big change for a short period of time<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<blockquote><p>Tracking everything<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<blockquote><p>Using the latest and greatest gadgets and apps<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>via <a href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/better-humans\/c02337782a89\">Live Like a Hydra \u2014 Better Humans \u2014 Medium<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Article was retweeted by NNT #5 An antifragile way of life An antifragile way of life is all about finding a way to gain from the inevitable disorder of life.
